Should teachings of creation theory be banned from the education system completely?
I think so. In order for our society to actually do better in life they need to stop believing that sky demons caused people to do bad things, instead of psychological disorders, and political reasons. I think that all religious propaganda should be banned from teaching altogether. How as we of the people to be more educated when the time of the children in those religious reeducation camps are teaching them crap that isn’t true?
What could they instead be learning? That religion teaches you to be an obedient slave to this god idea, and how the idea of god is simply used to provide a leader, that there is a strong possibility that god never truly existed, but instead was invented as a sort of leader everyone could look too. I think that the time of these people are so insulted by the teachers that think they are "educating" them. What a joke!
No why?

I have no problem with teaching creation theory in mythology class. It has no place in the science department though.

Why do you have a girl with hijab as your DP? did someone take your innocence when you were little? and now you’re enraged and angry?
N | Feb 07, 2010
No. Theories should not be banned just because you don’t believe in them.
The laws of thermodynamics make it clear that the universe is not eternal and could not produce itself out of aboslute nothing without a cause.
Atheism is therefore irrational. Theism is the only logical alternative. Thus creation.

i don’t think anything should be excluded from school, reason being…
if you were taught the theory of evolution and the theory of diffrent religions in school, then that will help for you to make up your own mind instead of being taught one thing and not the other.
so i believe in leave nothing out!

Their should be no biblical teachings in public education . Taxes pay for it and churches can’t and shouldn’t be able to use tax money for any biblical reasons .
Tom | Feb 07, 2010
no, creation stories can and should be taught in comparative religions classes.
While i don’t believe in any religion, you’d have to be very ignorant and naive to think that religion is not worth studying.

yes, in Canada we don’t teach that in schools i can’t believe they still do in some places. how do they expect kids to go through life when they have been told lies about their existence from a young age

religion has no place in public schools. but if someone wants to pay extra money to go to a private school to learn about religion, then thats their business.

Yes
It is baseless, confusing for little kids and simply not true
Church is the place for nonsenses like this, not schools

I don’t care how much you may remind yourself as one, we did NOT come from Baboons.
By the way God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit cannot be classified with athiests mindless dribble. Because Jesus is part of History and a fact.
JC Rules! | Feb 07, 2010
Nah, I would be OK if it was taught WITH OTHER THEORIES in an optional world religions class
strpenta | Feb 07, 2010
Religion should be studied, it was and is an important historical factor in the majority of world events. It’s study could help us not to make the same mistakes again..it should not, however, be treated as science.
prometheus_unbound | Feb 07, 2010
theory should never be banned. it is just thought. how could there be a ban on peoples thoughts. the danger only comes in the picking of sides.
glass. | Feb 07, 2010
Not entirely: they should learn about it in comparative religion classes.
