Using tobacco in any form is injurious to health,as we all know. Then why not its use should not be prohibited?
Consuming tobacco products is injurious to health. It leads to various health hazards, such as cancer, heart problems etc…Govt also know it.
Instead of fully baning usage of tobacco products, what is the meaning in huge budget allocation for public health? Any logic?
If the govts not ban such things and it is the cnsumers to decide about the consumption of tobacco, then why should there be public funds for treatment of tobacco connected diseases?

Nicotinamide is used as a pain-reliever

The simple answer is money. Everyone except the consumer profits from tobacco. And since the consumer is free to purchase what they want, there is no one to blame but the consumer for tobacco related illnesses. It’s a huge money maker.

No drugs should be outlawed. Studies have shown, prohibition increases demand and, increases crime since, things are forced underground.

I personally think they should simply tax them so it costs $100 per pack, then those who can afford to buy them can also afford to pay for their own healthcare.

The best answer is that what you do to your own body is not the government’s business. Drinking alcohol kills people, smoking pot kills people, eating fattening foods kills people. Either regulate it all or kill all the regulations. I personally do not want to live in a nanny state where they can tell me what I can or cannot do with my own body. Why do you want to live that way?

Perhaps there shouldn’t be public funding for those things but on the other hand, we pay taxes for the government to provide services to us. Should we also not provide services when a person drives to fast and crashes their car? Again, you have to think in broad terms, not in narrow minded or biased terms.

In the US we have a free society and free enterprise . . the tobacco industry has a powerful lobby . . in the past when the government tried to ban alcohol (prohibition) it did not work. People just began making their own . . it would be the same with tobacco. Those who want to smoke would continue smoking despite any attempt to ban or make it illegal . . at least tobacco can be ‘regulated’ and if it is taxed heavily than people will think twice about buying it. Those who continue to smoke will need to use their own free will to make decisions about their own bodies. We do not need the government trying to protect us from ourselves. We can make up our own minds.

It’s simple. The tobacco companies are too large and control a lot of things. Consumer addiction is also growing due to growing stress levels in busy lives.

Do you know how many people are employed in the tobacco industry? Beedis, Cigarettes, Cigars and the list goes on.

There’s no point in banning things. You are the one who chooses in the end. The Govts have done a lot. Banning sale to kids, adverts, onscreen portrayal..

Who would like to see Kristen Stewart replaced?
ME! I liked her okay in Cold Creek Manor, In the Land of Women, and The Messengers, but they need to get someone else for Twilight. To me, she just doesn’t fit Bella’s character. She always has that annoying look on her face…. One eyebrow raised, mouth wide open. Who agrees or disagrees? I don’t get mad at disagreements. This is a debate. If you agree, who would you choose to play her? I like the girl from Taken.

I would like to see the whole Twilight series evaporated in favor of something that’s actually good and worth watching.

None of the actors or actresses in twilight are worth the air they breath.

I disagree
giGGleZ | Aug 27, 2009

I would. I think Stewart and Pattinson should. Robert was good in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but simply dreadful in Twilight.

i personally like kristen stewart.. even though she acts the same in all her movies……. ummmm she is a good actor with her own vibe…. i kinda agree on the "her not being bella" cause she doesnt really entirely fit all of bellas personality and persona..but i think we’re so use to seeing kristen as bella that no one else can really take the part other than her.. so now i guess she fits bella and bella fits her
Ms.Jan21 | Aug 27, 2009

I know a LOT of people disagree with me, but I think she was good in the role. The whole thing I got with Bella is that she feels she’s not attractive or likable. I felt that she felt that people would think she wasn’t someone others wanted to know, yet it was the complete opposite. I thought Kristin portrayed that angst very well.

I think a lot of fans expected Kristin to play Bella more emotional and less stoic. It’s always a matter of perception. How Kristin portrays her is how I saw her in the book. Everyone sees Bella a different way and tends to add their own personal feelings and experiences into the character. Personally, the only other person I think that might be able to pull off Bella is Emma Watson. If she hadn’t been so busy with the HP series, she would have been able to bring a lot to the role.
